I struggled with poor health, overweight, and suffering with chronic back pain for decades. Turning this around has been a slow process, but now in my mid 50s, through regular fitness sessions and a healthier diet, I am looking forward to a healthy later life. I know it is hard work, but worth it, and I want to help you to invest in your future too.
I am a Personal Trainer and Nutritional Coach. I will work with you to achieve your health and fitness goals using a unique combination of science based facts, NLP coaching techniques and personalised fitness programmes. By eating well, moving lots, and being in control of our bodies, the impact of many aspect of ageing can be minimised to achieve an increased healthspan.
I offer a range of individual or packaged options designed to suit your aims and lifestyle. 1:1 fitness sessions in my private exercise space are individually designed, so they are bespoke for any age or fitness level and sessions can be supplemented with coaching sessions that will help you to build habits that last, supporting weight loss and a healthy diet. You can choose as much or as little support as you need, but you can be certain that you are at the heart of everything I deliver to you.

I have a BSc in Nutritional Science which provides a sound evidence based focus for everything I do. To help me facilitate the changes you want to make, I also have a Diploma in Nutritional Coaching which includes a specialism in NLP coaching for weight loss techniques. I am also a qualified Personal Trainer, and I am registered with Chartered institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). My unique combination of expertise in movement, combined with my coaching skills means that whatever your goals are, I am perfectly placed to support you on your journey to success.
It is never too late to start. All movement has a significant positive impact on physical and mental well being and all steps are steps in the right direction. And, because our sessions are in a private space, you do not need to worry about comparisons to others.
Unfortunately, the answer is not an emphatic yes. Moving more helps to maintain a healthy weight, and is great for the body and soul. However, because we live in an environment full of calorie rich and palatable foods, weight loss has to start with food. This is why I combine nutritional behaviour coaching with PT.

Put another way, I will help you to examine how you do things and empower you to make positive changes. In coaching sessions, you are in control and I will help you to set robust goals that really matter to you. I will then support you in identifying your own solutions - you have all the answers you need and I will help you to find them.

No, all sessions are designed to be done in a minimal space with minimal equipment. The first six sessions will be body weight only, and after that, as an incentive to keep going, I will provide you with hand weights and/or a resistance band for your next block of work.
Confusing information and mis-information about food and nutrition abounds in all forms of media. Dietary Education is an opportunity to record and analyse your intake over an average week, so that I can provide factual science based information to help you to make sound nutritional choices to support your health and your goals.
Yes - I am qualified as a Level 3 Health Referral Personal Trainer, so I can exercise with people who live with a range of medical conditions including High Blood Pressure, Obesity, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, Depression and Anxiety. I will carry out a risk assessment to ensure we can safely work together; see below for details.

I want you to attend sessions because you are motivated to succeed, so I do not ask for a minimum commitment. However, for you to benefit from our time together, depending on your base fitness level, you will probably need at least six months of regular work to see improvements in your fitness. Having a personal trainer/coach may keep you accountable and help you maintain focus and progress, and we can discuss how I can support you over a longer period.
